Course components and grading

This course will be different in structure from many other Biology labs you may experience at Villanova. Its primary emphasis will be on semi-independent projects: students in teams will conduct research studies, analyze results, report those results to the rest of the class in both written and oral form, and receive feedback from peers and the instructor. Students completing the lab (and the corequisite lecture, Bio 3011) will receive credit for one Writing Enriched course. All written assignments should be typed/word-processed and double-spaced, with each page numbered. All submissions should follow the format of the journal Animal Behaviour.
