Next offering: Fall 2009 (preceding Bio 4452, Field Ecology & Evolution Laboratory, in Dec 2009-Jan 2010, as a S09 course). Focal region: Mesoamerica and the Yucatán Peninsula, México

This course normally is offered only every other year. However, the sequence is going to be altered in the next few years. Specifically, Dr. Mike Russell is offering a different version of Bio 4451/4452 in F08, with a regional focus on Coastal Oregon. The Mexico version of the course in F08/S09 will be offered only if the Oregon version reaches sufficient enrollment first.

Format: lecture, one 2-hour meeting weekly or two 50-min. meetings

Appropriate for: undergraduates with at least some relevant course background and strong interest in ecology

Focal regions of past offerings have included:

  • Yucatán Peninsula, México (S04, S07)

  • Arizona and the desert Southwest (S00)

  • South Florida (S92, S96, S98, S06)

  • Puerto Rico (S94)
