  • Airfare to/from Mexico (probably Cancun). Between $450 and $550, depending on availability of discounted group fares. (Conceivably less if we book far ahead of time ... but we can only do that if all participants are 100% sure they're going.)

  • Accommodations. $15 per student per day at Akumal (approximately 8 nights out of total trip). Subtotal: $120

  • Per capita share of nights spent in hotels (approximately 4 nights out of total trip @ $15-20 per student per night). Subtotal $60-80

  • Per capita share of food throughout the trip (approximately $10 per person per day). We will cook for the group much of the time, but we'll eat at restaurants occasionally, at student expense. Subtotal: between $150 and $200

  • Per capita share of cost of van rental. Subtotal: $100-200

  • Costs for additional activities. These include:

    • Rental of snorkeling gear (about $25 per day; cheaper per day if rented for entire week)

    • Share of boat rental for snorkeling excursion (about $30 per student)

    • Entrance fees for Mayan ruins (total of $25)

    • Entrance fee for National Park (Rķa Lagartos): $20

    • Subtotal: about $150-200

Total cost to students (above and beyond normal Villanova tuition): ~ $1000 - $1200
